Entomophthoromycosis constitutes a nosological group of subcutaneous mycoses including conidiobolomycosis (rhinofacial form) and basidiobomomycosis (subcutaneous form involving the trunk and the limbs). Conidiobolomycosis is characterized by a progressive nasal and facial deformity giving, in the evolved forms, a "hippopotamus snout".
