Periorbital Cellulitis Secondary to Conidiobolus incongruus
Pharmacotherapy: The Journal of Human Pharmacology and Drug Therapy, 2001A previously healthy, 18‐month‐old girl developed edema and erythema around her left eye 1 week after getting sand in that eye. The patient did not respond to oral or intravenous antibiotics. A mass developed around the eye, and biopsy revealed Conidiobolus incongruus.

Morphology of Conidiobolus Villosus
Botanical Gazette, 1925The fungus described in this note appeared in July, I923, on a plate of nutrient agar inoculated from a piece of very rotten wood. This wood, collected in a moist thicket on the banks of the Iowa River, was covered with a brown Hypocknus, and an attempt was made to secure the latter in pure culture. Other fungi, especially the one here considered, grew

Orofacial Conidiobolomycosis due to Conidiobolus incongruus
Mycoses, 2003SummaryWe report here a patient of orofacial conidiobolomycosis presenting with classical centrofacial distribution described typically for Conidiobolus coronatus infection. The culture, however, showed C. incongruus. The mode of infection and its possible correlation with patient's occupation is also discussed.

A New Thermophilic Species of Conidiobolus from India
Mycopathologia, 2008A Conidiobolus isolate growing optimally at 40 degrees C was isolated from decomposing leaf litter and has been designated as a new species, Conidiobolus thermophilus. Colony growth, conidial discharge and smooth zygospore formation was rapid at 40 degrees C, while comparative growth at 35 and 45 degrees C was slower.

Veterinary Dermatology, 1994

Phototropism in Conidiobolus , Some Preliminary Observations
Science, 1961The action spectrum for phototropism of Conidiobolus conidiophores was determined crudely with glass filters and by projecting a spectrum on cultures of the fungus. The active wavelengths (about 400 to 650 mμ) corresponded in general with those absorbed by extracts containing a pigment with an absorption spectrum ...

A NEW CONIDIOBOLUS WITH SEXUAL REPRODUCTION
American Journal of Botany, 1939THE GENUS Conidiobolus was founded by Brefeld (1884) on C. utriculosus and C. minor, which were overgrowing the fruit bodies of certain jelly fungi. Both species were accidentally obtained while Brefeld was trying to get cultures of Hirneola and Exidia from spores by placing thefruit bodies over slides on which were drops of water and nutrient ...

Dormancy and germination of Conidiobolus obscurus azygospores
Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1982The breaking of dormancy of Conidiobolus obscurus azygospores is described. Maturation requires at least 3 months incubation at between 3 and 7°C in an atmosphere maintained at a relative humidity superior to 95%, in a humid soil, or in different substrates such as the attapulgite Clarsol BBC. Maximum germination was conserved for up to 10 months at 4°.

[Kinetics of the mycelial growth of Conidiobolus obscurus].
Annales de microbiologie, 1983The growth of C. obscurus was studied in solid and liquid media. In agar media, the hyphal growth was linear, but the number of apices increased exponentially; total growth was consequently exponential but characterized by a low growth rate. In batch cultures in a fermenter, mycelial growth was continuously linear following a short exponential phase ...
