A study of variation in wood-decay ability among isolates of Coniophora puteana (Schum. ex Fr.) Karst [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
An investigation was carried out to examine the variation in decay potential existing among a range of isolates of the brown-rotting basidiomycete Coniophora puteana. Consideration was given to possible factors which might contribute to such differences.

Svojstva bukova drva nakon djelovanja gljive Coniophora puteana, uzročnice smeđe truleži

open access: yesDrvna industrija, 2007
This paper reveals the alteration of selected physical and chemical properties of non-tension beech wood exposed to short- and medium-term degradation by the brown-rot fungus Coniophora puteana. The fungus caused a gradual mass loss and a significant decrease in wood density by the decay progression.

Biological Characterization of Panels Manufactured from Recycled Particleboards using Different Adhesives

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
Transforming waste or recycled materials into value-added products is of high priority today. Wood plastic composites (WPCs) show high potential for the use of recycled materials in making durable composites. The applicability of WPC panels produced from

Activity of commercial still waters from volatile oils production against wood decay fungi

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2014
The antifungal properties of some commercial plant waters obtained as side products in producing distilled oils were investigated. Paper disc samples were impregnated with various plant waters and exposed to wood decay fungi for 3 months in Petri dishes.

The genes encoding glycoside hydrolase family 6 and 7 cellulases from the brown-rot fungus Coniophora puteana

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science, 2009
Four genes encoding glycoside hydrolase (GH) family 6 and 7 cellulases (cel6A, cel6B, cel7A, and cel7B) were obtained from the brown-rot fungus Coniophora puteana by genomic polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using consensus degenerate hybrid oligonucleotide primers (CODEHOPs) designated from the amino acid sequence of cellobiohydrolases (CBHs) from white-

Significance of wood terepnoids in the resistance of Scots pine provenances against the old house borer, Hylotrubes bajulus, and brown-rot fungus, Coniophora puteana

open access: yes, 2004
We tested how terpenoid (i.e., monoterpenes and resin acids) composition and concentration in wood affects resistance against wood-borers and decaying fungi.
