Journal of Anatomy, EarlyView.Our study explores the plastic changes induced by captivity on the microanatomy of the talus of wild boars, revealing denser bone with tighter trabecular networks but a lower relative maximum thickness of compact bone. These plastic adaptations can serve to detect early processes of domestication in the archaeological record.
