Conjugacy classes of parabolic subalgebras in complex semi-simple lie algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
For a complex semi simple Lie algebra g, Richardson's dense orbit theorem gives a map between conjugacy classes of parabolic subalgebras in g and conjugacy classes of nilpotent elements.

Frugivore Declines Across Taxa Affect Forest Biomass

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology Communications, Volume 1, Issue 2, June 2026.
We examined how frugivore declines affect aboveground biomass in 260 1‐ha forest plots across Gabon using imputed frugivory networks between 122 frugivores and 99,349 trees. Simulated frugivore declines across Gabon tended to reduce aboveground biomass, with effects varying by taxon and geography.

Stronger arithmetic equivalence

open access: yesDiscrete Analysis, 2021
Stronger arithmetic equivalence, Discrete Analysis 2021:23, 23 pp. An algebraic number field is a subfield $K$ of $\mathbb C$ that is finite-dimensional when considered as a vector space over $\mathbb Q$, which implies that every element of $K$ is ...

Bayesian Inference for Joint Estimation Models Using Copulas to Handle Endogenous Regressors

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Volume 88, Issue 3, Page 519-534, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a Bayesian approach for finite‐sample inference of the Gaussian copula endogeneity correction. Extant studies use frequentist inference, build on a priori computed estimates of marginal distributions of explanatory variables, and use bootstrapping to obtain standard errors. The proposed Bayesian approach facilitates precise

Spectral Three-Term Constrained Conjugate Gradient Algorithm for Function Minimizations

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2019
In this work, we tend to deal within the field of the constrained optimization methods of three-term Conjugate Gradient (CG) technique which is primarily based on Dai–Liao (DL) formula.

On a question of Jaikin-Zapirain about the average order elements of finite groups [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Group Theory
For a finite group $G$, the average order $o(G)$ is defined to be the average of all order elements in $G$, that is $o( G)=\frac{1}{|G|}\sum_{x\in G}o(x)$, where $o(x)$ is the order of element $x$ in $G$.

One-relator groups with torsion are conjugacy separable

open access: yes, 2012
We prove that one-relator groups with torsion are hereditarily conjugacy separable. Our argument is based on a combination of recent results of Dani Wise and the first author.

An extended definition of Anosov representation for relatively hyperbolic groups

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 19, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract We define a new family of discrete representations of relatively hyperbolic groups which unifies many existing definitions and examples of geometrically finite behavior in higher rank. The definition includes the relative Anosov representations defined by Kapovich–Leeb and Zhu, and Zhu–Zimmer, as well as holonomy representations of various ...

Exact arithmetic as a tool for convergence assessment of the IRM-CG method

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
Using exact computer arithmetic, it is possible to determine the (exact) solution of a numerical model without any rounding error. For such purposes, a corresponding system of equations should be exactly defined, either directly or by rationalising the ...
