Amphiphilic Peptide–Polymer Conjugates with Side‐Conjugation

Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2011
AbstractPolymers conjugated to the exterior of a protein mediate its interactions with surroundings, enhance its processability and can be used to direct its macroscopic assemblies. Most studies to date have focused on peptide–polymer conjugates based on hydrophilic polymers.

Phosphorescence Quenching by Conjugated Polymers

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2003
Energy transfer between phosphors and conjugated polymers was investigated using a fluorene trimer (F3) as a model conjugated material. The phosphors studied were bis-cyclometalated iridium complexes (FP, PPY, BT, PQ, and BTP), with triplet energies of 2.6, 2.4, 2.2, 2.1, and 2.0 eV, respectively (based on phosphorescence spectra).

Polymer Conjugates

Clinical Pharmacokinetics, 1994
Soluble polymer conjugates have only recently been introduced into clinical practice. They can be subdivided into 2 main categories: polymer-protein conjugates, so far the most widely studied; and polymer-drug conjugates, particularly those containing conventional antitumour agents, that are still at an early stage of development.

Viscoelastic Conjugated Polymer Fluids

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2019
AbstractThe introduction of optoelectronic functions into viscoelastic polymers can yield highly sophisticated soft materials for biomedical devices and autonomous robotics. However, viscoelasticity and excellent optoelectronic properties are difficult to achieve because the presence of a large number of π‐conjugated moieties drastically stiffens a ...

Excitons In Conjugated Polymers

2005
Abstract The study of excitons in conjugated polymers has often been inspired by the treatment of excitons in bulk three-dimensional semiconductors (as described in Knox (1963)). A particle-hole excitation from the valence band to the conduction band in a semiconductor leaves a positively charged hole in the valence band and a negatively

Conjugated polymers for enhanced bioimaging

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 2011
Conjugated polymers (CPs) have been used for creating bioimaging tools or biosensors that provide a direct link between spectral signal and different biological processes. The detection schemes of these sensors are mainly employing the efficient light harvesting properties or the conformation sensitive optical properties of the CPs. Hence, the presence

Synthesis of protein–polymer conjugates

Org. Biomol. Chem., 2007
Protein-polymer conjugates are widely employed for applications in medicine, biotechnology and nanotechnology. Covalent attachment of synthetic polymers to proteins improves protein stability, solubility, and biocompatibility. Furthermore, synthetic polymers impart new properties such as self assembly and phase behavior.

Interchain Excitations in Conjugated Polymers

Physical Review Letters, 1995
The luminescence quantum yield is dramatically increased upon going from films to dilute blends or solutions of a soluble phenylenevinylene polymer. Nevertheless, direct measurements of the decay dynamics of the emissive excitons show that their lifetimes are not very different.

Curcumin polymers as anticancer conjugates

Biomaterials, 2010
Curcumin has been shown highly cytotoxic towards various cancer cell lines, but its water-insolubility and instability make its bioavailability exceedingly low and thus it generally demonstrates low anticancer activity in in vivo tests. Herein, we report a novel type of polymer-drug conjugates--the high molecular weight curcumin polymers (polycurcumins)
