Biosystematic studies on theClosterium moniliferum/ehrenbergiicomplex (Chlorophyta, Conjugatophyceae) in Western Europe. I. Isozyme patterns

British Phycological Journal, 1988
In the course of a biosystematic investigation into Closterium ehrenbergii and C. moniliferum, 278 clones of these species originating from 17 populations in The Netherlands and England were screened for their electrophoretic banding patterns with respect to the enzymes catalase, shikimate dehydrogenase, malic enzyme, acid phosphatase and isocitrate ...

The taxonomy, morphology and ecology of some smallerEuastrumspecies (Conjugatophyceae, Desmidiaceae)

British Phycological Journal, 1984
A morphological study of a large population of a small Euastrum species from a peat-pit in the Auvergne (France) revealed a very confusing taxonomy. A literature survey disclosed a gradual change in the concept of Euastrum sublobatum Breb. in Ralfs by successive authors. The original diagnosis and illustrations are considered inadequate.

Rare desmids (Streptophyta, Conjugatophyceae) from waterbodies of the National Park «Valdaiskiy» (Novgorod Region, Russia)

Novosti sistematiki nizshikh rastenii, 2016
In the summer 2013, two rare freshwater desmids, Sphaerozosma laeve and Actinotaenium tessellatum (Streptophyta, Conjugatophyceae), were found in the National Park «Valdaiskiy» (Novgorod Region, Russia). The former species was collected in the plankton of the lake «Pestovo» (57°43ʹ46.6ʺ N, 32°57ʹ55.0ʺ E), the latter one was found on the shore of the ...

TAXONOMIC IMPLICATIONS OF SEM REVEALED CELL WALL SCULPTURING IN SOME SMALL-SIZED DESMID SPECIES (CHLOROPHYTA, CONJUGATOPHYCEAE)

Acta Botanica Neerlandica, 1984
SUMMARY SEM studies of some smaller, unornamented desmid taxa of the genera Cosmarium and Euastrum showed that the superficial cell wall pattern of pores and scrobiculations provide useful, auxiliary taxonomic characters. Euastrum lacustre (basionym E. binale var. lacustre Messik.) and E. groenbladii (basionym E.
