Age‐Associated Decline in Autophagy Pathways in the Retinal Pigment Epithelium and Protective Effects of Topical Trehalose in Light‐Induced Outer Retinal Degeneration in Mice

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Transcriptomic analyses reveal an age‐related decline in autophagy pathways in RPE/choroid. These pathways remain unchanged in early AMD but become bidirectionally dysregulated in later stages, along with increased RPE loss. Pre‐treatment with trehalose eyedrops enhances RPE autophagy flux and prevents light‐induced outer retinal degeneration in mice ...

Comparative Evaluation of an Allergen Exposure Chamber and Nasal Allergen Challenge Versus In‐Field Symptom Assessment in Patients With Allergic Rhinitis Triggered by Timothy Grass Pollen

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study validated AEC and NAC allergen provocation‐derived symptom severity against natural exposure during the timothy grass pollen season in allergic rhinitis patients. Both AEC and NAC tests can be effectively applied for symptom severity assessment in allergy diagnostics.
