Conjunctival cytology in patients treated for ocular infectious diseases

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2021
Background: Anti-inflammatory therapy is a mainstay of treatment for patients with ocular inflammatory disorders. Although glucocorticosteroids (GCS) demonstrate a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect, treatment with GCS is associated with a

Significantly different results in the ocular surface microbiome detected by tear paper and conjunctival swab

open access: yesBMC Microbiology, 2023
Background Great variation has been observed in the composition of the normal microbiota of the ocular surface, and therefore, in addition to differences in detection techniques, the method of collecting ocular surface specimens has a significant impact ...

Gellan Gum Fluid Gel System for Controlled‐Delivery of Cytokine‐Licensed MSC‐EVs to Enhance Corneal Repair in Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Gellan gum fluid gel (FG) enables controlled ocular delivery of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)‐derived extracellular vesicles (EV). Its shear‐thinning, solid‐liquid‐solid rheology ensures prolonged ocular retention. Sustained MSC‐EV release (∼18% in 6 hrs) supports effective EV ocular delivery.

Nocturnal Intraocular Pressure Monitoring With a Soft Contact Lens Sensor for Glaucoma Management

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft contact lens sensor enables continuous, noninvasive monitoring of nocturnal intraocular pressure (IOP) under closed‐eye sleep conditions. By integrating a highly compliant inductive–capacitive circuit onto a commercial lens, the device achieves record sensitivity and stable performance.

Decoding IGLL5 Mutation‐Mediated BCR Signaling: A Novel Mechanism of CD8+ T Cell Exhaustion and Ocular MALT Lymphoma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
OAML harbors recurrent IGLL5 mutations that reinforce CD79A/CD79B‐associated BCR signaling. Mechanistic analysis of the S47G and A54G variants reveals induction of CXCL10/CXCL11, enhanced CD8+ T‐cell recruitment, and exhaustion‐associated dysfunction, supporting an immune‐tolerant niche.

Infusion rate adjustment in enzyme replacement therapy with pabinafusp alfa for mucopolysaccharidosis II

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) for mucopolysaccharidosis II (MPS II) requires long‐term, weekly intravenous infusions often lasting over 3 h each time, which can burden paediatric patients and caregivers and negatively affect their quality of life and treatment compliance.
