Conjunctival grafting for ocular surface disease
Current Opinion in Opthalmology, 1999The procedure of transplanting healthy conjunctiva onto eyes with damaged ocular surface epithelium was first described by Thoft in 1977. Today, conjunctival autografting is widely used in pterygium surgery and has been shown to be both safe and effective in reducing pterygium recurrence.

Use of free conjunctival grafts in horses: ten cases
Australian Veterinary Journal, 2004AbsractObjective To assess the effectiveness of free conjunctival grafts in the treatment of horses with a range of keratopathies.Design A retrospective clinical study of ten client‐owned horses treated at Murdoch University Veterinary Hospital from May 1996 to September 2001.Procedure The suitability of patients for the surgical procedure was assessed

Conjunctival Healing after Amniotic Membrane Graft over Ischemic Sclera
Cornea, 2003To present a case of chemical injury associated with calcification and severe conjunctival and scleral ischemia, in which tissue regeneration was achieved using an amniotic membrane graft.A 65-year-old man presented to our department 8 weeks after suffering a chemical injury of his left eye with sulfuric acid.

Pterygium Excision with Conjunctival Pedicle Graft
2017Pterygium is characterized by encroachment of an abnormal fibrovascular tissue from the bulbar conjunctiva onto the cornea (Arch Ophthalmol 115:1235–1240, 1997). Upon reaching the corneal surface, this fibrovascular tissue exerts cicatricial traction that flattens the caruncle and obliterates the semilunar fold (Arch Ophthalmol 130:39–49, 2012).

Amniotic Membrane Grafting in the Management of Conjunctival Vascular Malformations
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 2009Vascular malformations of the conjunctiva are symptomatically distressing and surgically challenging. Because their expansive nature necessitates broad conjunctival sacrifice in some cases, epithelial reconstitution may be the best way to avoid symblepharon formation.

Comparison of Photochemical Crosslinking Versus Sutures for Bonding Conjunctival Grafts
Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 2019Background and ObjectivesTo explore whether Rose Bengal‐induced photochemical crosslinking (RB‐PCL) can be a replacement for sutures in conjunctival autograft bonding, we compared the safety, operating time, postoperative ocular signs, and inflammatory responses of RB‐PCL versus nylon suturing for sealing conjunctival autografts in rabbits.Study Design/

Amnion-assisted conjunctival epithelial redirection in limbal stem cell grafting
British Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016AimsTo develop a technique using amniotic membrane (AM) to prevent admixture of conjunctival epithelial cells and limbal explant-derived corneal epithelial cells in patients undergoing limbal stem cell transplantation. To compare this technique with the current method of ‘sequential sector conjunctival epitheliectomy’ (SSCE).Methods26 patients with ...

Storage, surgery, outcome, and complications of corneal and conjunctival grafts
Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1993Corneal transplantation is still limited by a shortage of donor material, but the type of storage medium used once a cornea has been acquired is probably irrelevant to graft outcome. Vancomycin HCl shows promise as a supplement to gentamicin sulfate in storage media.

Purpose: To compare the risk of recurrence and disease-free time after conjunctival-limbal autograft (CLAG) or conjunctival autograft (CAG) with sutureless (fibrin glue) fixation for pterygium excision. Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study. We reviewed the charts of 312 patients who underwent CLAG and CAG sutureless techniques between 2010 and
