Components and Connections

open access: yes, 2022
An agent like Builder is not merely a collection of parts like Find , Get , Put , and all the rest. Builder would not work at all unless those agents were linked to one another by a suitable network of interconnections: Could you predict ...

Sirolimus for Extracranial Arteriovenous Malformations: A Scoping Review of the Evidence in Syndromic and Non‐Syndromic Cases

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare, high‐flow, vascular anomalies that can occur either sporadically or as part of a genetic syndrome. AVMs can progress with serious morbidity and even mortality if left unchecked. Sirolimus is an mTOR inhibitor that is effective in low‐flow vascular malformations; however, its role in AVMs is unclear.

Mechanical properties improvement of titanium alloy and its grain boundary dislocation evolution mechanism by novel electroshock treatment

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Titanium alloys are extensively utilized in the aerospace industry due to their exceptional strength and resistance to corrosion. However, litmited performance and high dispersion has always existed for the traditional manufacturing process.

Artificial neural network based optimization of a six-step two-bed pressure swing adsorption system for hydrogen purification

open access: yesEnergy and AI, 2021
The pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system is widely applied to separate and purify hydrogen from gaseous mixtures. The extended Langmuir equation fitted from the extended Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm has been used to predict the adsorption isothermal of

On the complexity of strongly connected components in directed hypergraphs

open access: yes, 2013
We study the complexity of some algorithmic problems on directed hypergraphs and their strongly connected components (SCCs). The main contribution is an almost linear time algorithm computing the terminal strongly connected components (i.e. SCCs which do

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Connected Components of H_(r,g)^A (G)

open access: yesSultan Qaboos University Journal for Science, 2018
The Hurwitz space is the space of genus g covers of the Riemann sphere with branch points and the monodromy group . In this paper, we enumerate the connected components of the Hurwitz spaces for a finite primitive group of degree 7 and genus ...

‘They Need to Hear You Say It’: Healthcare Professionals’ Perspectives on Barriers and Enablers to End‐of‐Life Discussions With Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT End‐of‐life conversations with adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer rarely occur without the guidance of healthcare professionals. As a part of the ‘Difficult Discussions’ study, focused on palliative care and advance care planning discussions with AYAs with cancer, we investigated the factors that healthcare professionals identify ...

BAYESIAN IMAGE SEGMENTATION THROUGH LEVEL LINES SELECTION

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2011
Bayesian statistical theory is a convenient way of taking a priori information into consideration when inference is made from images. In Bayesian image segmentation, the a priori distribution should capture the knowledge about objects. Taking inspiration

Approximating the Smallest Spanning Subgraph for 2-Edge-Connectivity in Directed Graphs

open access: yes, 2015
Let $G$ be a strongly connected directed graph. We consider the following three problems, where we wish to compute the smallest strongly connected spanning subgraph of $G$ that maintains respectively: the $2$-edge-connected blocks of $G$ (\textsf{2EC-B});
