Tunable Room‐Temperature Polaritons in the Very Strong Coupling Regime in Quasi‐2D Ruddlesden–Popper Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
The study reports widely tunable room‐temperature exciton polaritons in quasi‐2D perovskite microcavities operating at the transition between strong and very strong coupling regimes. These experimental and theoretical insights explain the peculiar scaling behavior of the light–matter coupling in our tunable system, paving the way for future tunable ...

Polar Indirect Valley as a Limiting Factor for Radiative Efficiency in Gold‐Based Mixed‐Valence Double Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work addresses a common issue in many double perovskites: their weak luminescence. Using the example of promising infrared‐bandgap mixed‐valence gold halide double perovskites, it demonstrates strong polar electron‐phonon coupling. Temperature‐dependent spectroscopy reveals that bright polarons are favored at low temperature, while a dark low ...

Deep Seek to the Excited States: A Thermally‐Activated Jahn–Teller Effect Achieves Superior Sensitivity for Thermometry at Cryogenic Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A Sb3+‐activated bismuth‐based halide single crystal shifts the onset temperature by ≈200 K. The confluence of the spin‐orbit interaction and the dynamic Jahn–Teller effect is responsible for maximizing the opposite emission changes at different temperatures. A high relative sensitivity (Sr) value of 18.9 % K−1 is obtained at 77 K.
