Wavelet Calculus and Connection Coefficients
1998As we have seen in the previous chapters, one can use a wavelet series to represent a function of one or more variables which can be either an infinite series at the theoretical level or an approximating finite series in an applications context. The role of calculus, computing derivatives and solving differential equations, is an extremely important ...

Connection between diffusivity and activity coefficient
Steel Research, 1995On the basis of linear nonequilibrium thermodynamics, the connection between diffusivity and activity interaction coefficients in melts was delineated and this relation can be expressed as the following mathematic formula: ...

Connection coefficients, orthogonal polynomials and the WZ-algorithms
Numerical Algorithms, 1999In this paper the relationship between the coefficients of the expansion of a function \(f(x)\) and the function \((1-x)^mf(z)\), \(m\) a positive integer, into series of orthogonal polynomials is investigated. In particular the Jacobi and the Gegenbauer polynomials are considered.

Recurrence coefficients for orthogonal polynomials on connected and non-connected sets
1979General methods for relating the asymptotic behaviour of the recurrence coefficients of orthogonal polynomials and properties of the corresponding weight functions are described and discussed. The cases of a function with algebraic singularities on a single bounded interval and a function positive on a finite set of bounded intervals are studied ...
