Heuristic optimization techniques for connecting renewable distributed generators on distribution grids

Neural Computing and Applications, 2020
Proposing a high effective objective function by utilizing optimal weighting factors plays an important role in power systems to boost the quality, attitude, and efficiency of evaluating the position and capacity of renewable distributed generators (RDGs) optimally.

Grid-connected control research of distributed photovoltaic connected to AC distribution network

Proceeding of the 11th World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation, 2014
A lot of harmonic is generated when distributed photovoltaic (PV) connects to the distribution network through inverter. LCL filter is adopted in the grid-connected control system because LCL filter has stronger ability to filter high frequency harmonic than L-type filter. Compared with pulse width modulation (PWM), space vector pulse width modulation (

Influence of grid-connected inverters on the power quality of the distribution grid

2014 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2014
Many inverters are quoted as having a PF of better than 0.95 when in reality, the true power factor is between 0.5 and 0.75. This paper describes the influence of grid-connected inverters on the distribution grid. The impact of the voltage distortion from the inverter to the distribution grid is relative small without grid impedance.

Predicting Resonance Frequencies in Distribution Networks with Grid-Connected Inverters

2022 20th International Conference on Harmonics & Quality of Power (ICHQP), 2022
Increase in the amplitude of current harmonics at a resonance frequency could lead to high voltage harmonics in the distribution network due to resonance. As these voltage harmonics could potentially damage the insulation of network elements, preventive actions need to be taken.

A testing platform for distribution grid with multiple grid-connected converters

2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia), 2016
Distributed renewable energy generation units with medium-voltage distribution grid integration are considered as the most effective utilization manner because of low cost. However, the medium-voltage level (typically reach to 50 kV) brings safety risks in the experimental debugging process of new circuit topologies and algorithms for medium-voltage ...

A Grid-Connected Distributed System for PV System

2021
Renewable energy like solar energy, wind energy and hydropower energy may be used to connect with grid-connected distributed system. The excess energy available by renewable energy sources may be supplied to grid and to get some positive cash flow. In this paper, application of power electronics has been explained and discussed and also providing some ...
