A Robust-Synchronization-Loop for Grid-Connected Distributed Generation Converters [PDF]

open access: yesIECON 2020 The 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2020
In this paper, a novel Robust-Synchronization-Loop (RSL) is proposed to track the phase and frequency of the grid voltage. The method can be widely applied to the grid-connected converters in integration of distributed generations (DGs).

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving

Influence of Scan Strategies in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion on Solidification, Microstructure, and High‐Temperature Compressive Properties of γ′‐Strengthened Inconel 738LC

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Distributed control of a swarm of buildings connected to a smart grid [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 1st ACM Conference on Embedded Systems for Energy-Efficient Buildings, 2014
Energy-efficient control mechanisms are necessary to manage the ever increasing energy demand. Recently several tools for building energy consumption control have been proposed for small (e.g. homes) [8] and large (e.g. offices) buildings [3][6][1]. The mechanism each tool uses is different, e.g.

External and Internal Cracking Caused by Heat Treatment in Laser Powder Bed Fusion‐Fabricated Inconel 738LC Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Manufacturing problems such as heat treatment‐induced cracking hinder the widespread application of the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process to superalloys. In this study, cracks in the LPBF components of Inconel 738LC superalloy are characterized after heat treatment at various temperature ranges, revealing two distinct cracking behaviors.
