Big bang of the brane universe [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Big bang of the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW)-brane universe is studied. In contrast to the spacelike initial singularity of the usual FRW universe, the initial singularity of the FRW-brane universe is point-like from the viewpoint of causality ...

RIGHT CONOID HYPERSURFACES IN FOUR-SPACE

open access: yesFacta Universitatis, Series: Mathematics and Informatics, 2023
The right conoid hypersurfaces in the four-dimensional Euclidean space $\mathbb{E}^{4}$ are introduced. The matrices corresponding to the fundamental form, Gauss map, and shape operator of these hypersurfaces are calculated. By utilizing the Cayley--Hamilton theorem, the curvatures of these specific hypersurfaces are determined.

STUDENTS' APPROACHES ON WARPED SURFACE

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2019
The geometric challenges in the architectural design of warped surface come mainly from the physical materialization. This paper presents structural forms based on warped surface and shows the types of structures made during the 20th and 21st century ...

A doublecortin-domain protein of Toxoplasma and its orthologues bind to and modify the structure and organization of tubulin polymers

open access: yesBMC Molecular and Cell Biology, 2020
Background TgDCX is a doublecortin-domain protein associated with the conoid fibers, a set of strongly curved non-tubular tubulin-polymers in Toxoplasma. TgDCX deletion impairs conoid structure and parasite invasion.

Multigene Sequence-Based and Phenotypic Characterization Reveals the Occurrence of a Novel Entomopathogenic Nematode Species, Steinernema anantnagense n. sp.

open access: yesJournal of Nematology, 2023
Three entomopathogenic nematode populations were isolated from agricultural fields in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir (India). Sequences of multiple gene regions and phenotypic features show that they are conspecific and represent a novel ...

Cellular electron tomography of the apical complex in the apicomplexan parasite Eimeria tenella shows a highly organised gateway for regulated secretion.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2022
The apical complex of apicomplexan parasites is essential for host cell invasion and intracellular survival and as the site of regulated exocytosis from specialised secretory organelles called rhoptries and micronemes.

The Problem of Lighting in Underground Domes, Vaults, and Tunnel-Like Structures of Antiquity; An Application to the Sustainability of Prominent Asian Heritage (India, Korea, China) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Lighting in heritage is complex because of the forms intervening in it. The historical evolution of cultures has not been analytical and therefore, the shapes involved di er greatly from the cuboids typically found in 21st century architecture.

Characterization of Iberian species of the genus Pungentus Thorne & Swanger, 1936 (Nematoda, Dorylaimida, Nordiidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Several populations of four known species of the genus Pungentus (P. clavatus, P. engadinensis, P. marietani and P. silvestris), collected in the wild and in cultivated soils from the Iberian Peninsula, are studied.

Toxoplasma gondii Syntaxin 6 is required for vesicular transport between endosomal-like compartments and the Golgi Complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Apicomplexans are obligate intracellular parasites that invade the host cell in an active process that relies on unique secretory organelles (micronemes, rhoptries and dense granules) localized at the apical tip of these highly polarized eukaryotes ...
