Conic Section of a Type of Egg Curve Based Conoid [PDF]
A cubic egg curve obtained by Hügelschäffer’s construction, can be spatially interpreted as a plane section of a type of a conoid set through a specially chosen 4-th order intersecting curve of two quadrics: right cylinder and cone.

Background The acromioclavicular (AC) and coracoclavicular (CC) ligaments are important stabilizers of the AC joint. We hypothesized that AC and trapezoid ligament injuries induce AC joint instability and that the clavicle can override the acromion on ...

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Near‐Field Electrospinning Micro‐Printhead Achieves Precise Control of Nanofiber Deposition
A micro‐printhead for near‐field electrospinning enables reproducible deposition of polymer nanofibers with diameters below 50 nm. Systematic parameter studies uncover the mechanisms linking operating conditions to fiber morphology, paving the way for precise and low‐cost nanoscale 3D manufacturing. As a high‐resolution, cost‐effective, and rapid ...

Cerviconema cygneum and Papuadorus amplus, two new genera and species (Nematoda: Dorylaimida) from high altitude regions [PDF]
Two new species of dorylaimid nematodes each representing a new genus are described and illustrated. Cerviconema gen. n., with C. cygneum sp. n. from Bolivia as type, belongs to the family Paraxonchiidae and is characterized by the strongly tapered neck,

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,
