A study on the characteristics of introduced Pearl Mullet population (Chalcalburnus Tarichi, Pallas, 1811) in Lake Erçek [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
This study examines features such as the population structure, growth and reproduction of the pearl mullet captured in the Lake Ercek. Between the dates January 2008 and January 2010 a total number of 527 individual were sampled through using trammel net and mesh size of 20,22 and 24 mm of fish net.

Plastics of the Future? Interdisciplinary Review on Biobased and Biodegradable Polymers: Progress in Chemistry, Societal Views, and Environmental Implications

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Global demand to reduce polymer waste and microplastics pollution has increased in recent years, prompting further research, development, and wider use of biodegradable and biobased polymers (BBPs). BBPs have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional plastics, with the potential to mitigate the environmental burdens of persistent plastic waste.

Comparative Evaluation of Sedative Effects of Oral Midazolam and Oral Ketamine in Combination with Inhalation Sedation for Pediatric Behavior Control during Dental Treatment

open access: yesمجله دانشکده دندانپزشکی اصفهان, 2007
Introduction: Oral route for conscious sedation is very easy to administer drugs and has good acceptance. Oral Midazolam and Ketamine provide the effective sedation. Also conscious sedation with combination techniques increases efficacy.

Information Closure Theory of Consciousness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Information processing in neural systems can be described and analysed at multiple spatiotemporal scales. Generally, information at lower levels is more fine-grained and can be coarse-grained in higher levels. However, information processed only at specific levels seems to be available for conscious awareness.

Parametric Shape Modeling and Skeleton Extraction with Radial Basis Functions using Similarity Domains Network [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We demonstrate the use of similarity domains (SDs) for shape modeling and skeleton extraction. SDs are recently proposed and they can be utilized in a neural network framework to help us analyze shapes. SDs are modeled with radial basis functions with varying shape parameters in Similarity Domains Networks (SDNs).

Adverse events of conscious sedation using midazolam for gastrointestinal endoscopy

open access: yesAnesthesia and Pain Medicine, 2019
Background This study was conducted to identify the types and incidence of adverse events associated with midazolam, which is the most widely used drug to induce conscious sedation during gastrointestinal endoscopy, and to analyze the factors associated ...

Senkyunolide I Improves Septicemia‐Induced Brain Dysfunction via Regulating Nrf2 and Astrocyte Activity.

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Senkyunolide I (Sen I) has a protective effect on the blood–brain barrier (BBB) in rats with sepsis‐associated encephalopathy (SAE). This study investigated whether Sen I regulates Nrf2 to ameliorate sepsis‐induced brain dysfunction (SIBD). Sixty rats were randomly assigned into Sham group, SAE group (Model group), SAE + Sen I group (72 mg/kg,

Conscious sedation and reduction of fractures in the paediatric population: an orthopaedic perspective

open access: yesJournal of Children's Orthopaedics, 2019
Purpose Closed reduction under conscious sedation in the emergency department (ED) has been demonstrated to provide cost-effective, timely care. There has been little research into the efficacy of conscious sedation and reduction from an orthopaedic ...

Understanding factors that influence the drug choice of prescribers: A Q‐methodology study

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Therapeutic decision‐making often involves weighing several treatment options on the basis of, among other things, the disease profile, patient characteristics but also prescriber‐specific factors. This study investigated the factors influencing therapeutic decision‐making among prescribers and explores how these factors differ ...
