A Consensus Conference Without Our Consensus
Psychological Inquiry, 1992In May 1990, one of us (Abramson) attended the consensus conference on cognitive approaches to depression and discovered she was not part of the consensus. Although the conference was very stimulating, she had a vague feeling of discomfort that went beyond simply disagreeing with some of the consensual recommendations.

We were able to detail the impact of the information offered by having audience members complete questionnaires before and after the conference.
