Abstract Aim Land‐use change and overexploitation are major threats to biodiversity, and climate change will exert additional pressure in the 21st century. This study investigates the use of synthetic chemical lures to attract fruit‐eating bats and enhance seed dispersal in northeastern Costa Rica. The lures significantly increased the capture of Carollia spp., a key seed disperser, and boosted seed rain.
