Probabilistic cellular automata with conserved quantities
We demonstrate that the concept of a conservation law can be naturally extended from deterministic to probabilistic cellular automata (PCA) rules. The local function for conservative PCA must satisfy conditions analogous to conservation conditions for ...

Symmetry Analysis and Conservation Laws for a Time-Fractional Generalized Porous Media Equation
The symmetry group method is applied to study a class of time-fractional generalized porous media equations with Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives. All point symmetry groups and the corresponding optimal subgroups are determined.

Non-conservation of Carter in black hole spacetimes [PDF]
Freely falling point particles in the vicinity of Kerr black holes are subject to a conservation law, that of their Carter constant. We consider the conjecture that this conservation law is a special case of a more general conservation law, valid for arbitrary processes obeying local energy momentum conservation.

Controlling conservation laws I: entropy-entropy flux [PDF]
We study a class of variational problems for regularized conservation laws with Lax's entropy-entropy flux pairs. We first introduce a modified optimal transport space based on conservation laws with diffusion. Using this space, we demonstrate that conservation laws with diffusion are "flux--gradient flows".

The Conservation Laws in Quantum Mechanics
When the theoretical foundations of Einstein’s quantum theory of radiation are compared with Heisenberg’s and Feynman’s theories the equations of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics are found to violate the conservation laws.

Illustrations of the Relativistic Conservation Law for the Center of Energy
The relativistic conservation law involving the center of energy is reviewed and illustrated using simple examples from classical electromagnetic theory.

Cauchy problem for multiscale conservation laws: Application to structured cell populations [PDF]
In this paper, we study a vector conservation law that models the growth and selection of ovarian follicles. During each ovarian cycle, only a definite number of follicles ovulate, while the others undergo a degeneration process called atresia. This work

A geometric framework for conservation laws along null hypersurfaces [PDF]
We use the general theory of local conservation laws for arbitrary partial differential equations to provide a geometric framework for conservation laws on characteristic null hypersurfaces. The operator of interest is the wave operator on general four-dimensional Lorentzian manifolds restricted on a null hypersurface.

A Time Two-Mesh Finite Difference Numerical Scheme for the Symmetric Regularized Long Wave Equation
The symmetric regularized long wave (SRLW) equation is a mathematical model used in many areas of physics; the solution of the SRLW equation can accurately describe the behavior of long waves in shallow water. To approximate the solutions of the equation,
