Potential conservation laws [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2008
We prove that potential conservation laws have characteristics depending only on local variables if and only if they are induced by local conservation laws. Therefore, characteristics of pure potential conservation laws have to essentially depend on potential variables. This statement provides a significant generalization of results of the recent paper

Stochastic conservation laws? [PDF]

open access: yesChaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2000
We examine conservation laws, typically the conservation of linear momentum, in the light of a recent successful formulation of fermions as Kerr-Newman type Black Holes, which are created fluctuationally from a background Zero Point Field. We conclude that these conservation laws are to be taken in the spirit of thermodynamic laws.

Connections Between Symmetries and Conservation Laws [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2005
This paper presents recent work on connections between symmetries and conservation laws. After reviewing Noether's theorem and its limitations, we present the Direct Construction Method to show how to find directly the conservation laws for any given ...

Conservation Laws, Hodograph Transformation and Boundary Value Problems of Plane Plasticity [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2012
For the hyperbolic system of quasilinear first-order partial differential equations, linearizable by hodograph transformation, the conservation laws are used to solve the Cauchy problem.

Conservation laws for self-adjoint first order evolution equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work we consider the problem on group classification and conservation laws of the general first order evolution equations. We obtain the subclasses of these general equations which are quasi-self-adjoint and self-adjoint.

New asymptotic conservation laws for electromagnetism

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We obtain the subleading tail to the memory term in the late time electromagnetic radiative field generated due to a generic scattering of charged bodies. We show that there exists a new asymptotic conservation law which is related to the subleading tail

Conservation Laws and Symmetry Reductions of the Hunter–Saxton Equation via the Double Reduction Method

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2023
This study investigates via Lie symmetry analysis the Hunter–Saxton equation, an equation relevant to the theoretical analysis of nematic liquid crystals.

Conservation laws in quantum noninvasive measurements

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
Conservation principles are essential to describe and quantify dynamical processes in all areas of physics. Classically, a conservation law holds because the description of reality can be considered independent of an observation (measurement). In quantum

Conservation laws for a viscoelastic medium

open access: yesAtti della Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti : Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali, 2019
In this paper we consider a first order quasilinear non homogenoeus hyperbolic system describing viscoelastic processes. A full classification of first order local conservation laws admitted by such a rate-type model has been given.
