CD168 Identifies Proliferating Pancreatic Islet Cells in Murine and Human

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies CD168 as a conserved surface marker for proliferating β‐cells in mouse, human islets, and pancreatic islet tumors. CD168⁺ cells show high proliferation and low insulin expression. CD168+ cells form mostly uni‐β lineage clones, and some of the clones are multi‐lineage.

Intercellular Horizontal Transfer of TXNDC5 mRNA via Extracellular Vesicles Contributes to Tumor‐Associated Macrophage‐Mediated Prostate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the role of M2 macrophage‐derived extracellular vesicles (M2 EVs) in prostate cancer (PCa) metastasis. Mechanistically, M2 EVs horizontally transfer TXNDC5 mRNA to PCa cells, where the molecule induces the mesenchymal‐like state (MLS), enhancing PCa migration and invasion.

Genomics Insights Into High‐Latitude Adaptation of Tibetan Macaques

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tibetan macaques exhibit unique adaptations to cold, high‐latitude environments, including shortened tails and enhanced fat storage. Genomic analyses reveal a species‐specific TBX6 mutation linked to tail reduction and selection on lipid metabolism genes.

Domestication of Tartary Buckwheat Shaped a Regulatory Module for Seedling Salt Tolerance by Targeting the Magnesium Transporter Gene FtMGT2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Domestication of Tartary buckwheat is selected for a salt tolerance mechanism involving the magnesium transporter FtMGT2. Its expression is controlled by the FtAGL16‐FtMYB15L module, which is stabilized under salt stress through a competitive interaction that blocks its degradation by the E3 ligase FtBRG1, ultimately boosting Na⁺ efflux and plant ...

Precision Editing of NLRS Improves Effector Recognition for Enhanced Disease Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Precision engineering of plant NLR immune receptors enables rational design of enhanced pathogen resistance through mismatched pairing, domain swapping, and targeted mutagenesis. These approaches achieve multi‐fold expansion in recognition breadth while minimizing autoimmunity risks and fitness penalties.

Mammalian Proteome Profiling Reveals Readers and Antireaders of Strand‐Symmetric and ‐Asymmetric 5‐Hydroxymethylcytosine‐Modifications in DNA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate by proteomics studies how strand‐symmetric and ‐asymmetric cytosine 5‐modifications in DNA are selectively recognized by the nuclear proteome. Using promoter probes with defined modification patterns, we identify tissue‐specific reader proteinsincluding MYC, MAX, and RFX5that discriminate 5‐hydroxymethylcytosine symmetry and sequence ...
