Targeted Inhibition of CD74+ Macrophages by Luteolin via CEBPB/P65 Signaling Ameliorates Osteoarthritis Progression

This study identifies CD74⁺ macrophages as key drivers of synovial inflammation in osteoarthritis (OA). The flavonoid luteolin is predicted to inhibit this pathway by blocking Nuclear Factor Kappa‐light‐chain‐enhancer of Activated B cells (NF‐κB) signaling. To enhance delivery, a targeted nanoplatform (MDSPL) is developed.

Burn Selection: How Fire Injury Shaped Human Evolution

Intentional fire use exposed humans and their ancestors to high‐temperature burn injury, a risk rare in other species, bringing major survival benefits and technologies but also repeated exposure to extreme heat. The Burn Selection Hypothesis reframes this cost of fire mastery as a unique selective pressure, which shaped our evolution.

High‐throughput single‐cell DNA methylation and chromatin accessibility co‐profiling with SpliCOOL‐seq

SpliCOOL‐seq achieves high‐throughput single‐cell co‐profiling of DNA methylation and chromatin accessibility. DNMT inhibitors caused cancer cell demethylation with divergent patterns. SpliCOOL‐seq enables the discovery of genes related to LUAD tumorigenesis. Ageing and LUAD tumorigenesis may share similar epigenetic alterations.
