Reducing the consistency strength of an indestructibility theorem

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 2008
AbstractUsing an idea of Sargsyan, we show how to reduce the consistency strength of the assumptions employed to establish a theorem concerning a uniform level of indestructibility for both strong and supercompact cardinals. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Consistent inelastic design spectra: Strength and displacement

Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 1994
AbstractA procedure for the determination of inelastic design spectra (for strength, displacement, hysteretic and input energy) for systems with a prescribed ductility factor has been developed. All the spectra are consistent (interrelated and based on the same assumptions).

Isometric Strength Test Consistency over Time

Proceedings of the Human Factors Society Annual Meeting, 1983
Workmen's Compensation costs have become a major financial burden on industry. A significant part of these costs are the result of musculoskeletal injuries. One method of controlling these injuries is matching employees to jobs based on strength.

Shear strength of remolded soils at consistency limits

Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 2010
The undrained shear strength of remolded soils is of concern in certain geotechnical engineering applications. Several methods for determining this parameter exist, including the laboratory vane test. This study proposes a new method to estimate the undrained shear strength, particularly at the plastic and liquid limits.

The consistency strength of the free-subset property for \(\omega _{\omega}\)

J. Symb. Log., 1984
It is shown that the free subset property for \(\omega_{\omega}\) is equi-consistent with the existence of a measurable cardinal. One direction is an application of the covering lemma for the core model; the other direction extends results of \textit{S. Shelah} [ibid. 45, 505-509 (1980; Zbl 0453.03052)].

Working time and strength in relation to consistency of composite resins

European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1977
abstract – Composite resin pastes can be made more fluid for injection purposes by adding small amounts of enamel bond resin before mixing. The aim of this work was to study the influence of the added resin on the working time and on the early and final strength of the composite.

Effects of Aggregate Packing on Concrete Strength and Consistency

Advances in Civil Engineering Materials, 2018
Abstract Designing concrete based on aggregate packing and optimized gradations can result in 25 % less cement content to reach a targeted compressive strength and less water-reducing admixture to obtain a required consistency. In this research, two studies were conducted: (1) an experimental analysis to determine the effects of ...

On the Consistency Strength of Projective UNI Formization

1982
Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on the consistency strength of projective uniformization. Familiarity with the fundamentals of descriptive set theory in the context of determinacy is assumed. It discusses two consequences of Projective Determinacy (PD) for the projective sets: (1) every projective set has the property of Baire and is Lebesque ...
