Fatigue crack growth of additively manufactured component under constant amplitude load
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021Abstract Additive manufacturing is used to produce complex shapes and can give optimised components under bending and torsion loads. In additive manufacturing, 3D model of the component is created using the commercially available software and then physical part is obtained using the machine which links CAD model data to manufacturing machine.

THE RANDOMNESS OF FATIGUE CRACK GROWTH UNDER CONSTANT‐AMPLITUDE LOADS
Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 1996Abstract—An analysis of fatigue crack growth from an statistical point of view has been carried out. Eighteen pre‐cracked specimens obtained from the same sheet of aluminium alloy were subjected to identical load and environmental conditions. Tests were conducted under constant‐amplitude loads in order to isolate the effect of material randomness.

On Three-Dimensional Fatigue Crack Propagation under Constant Amplitude Loading
Advanced Materials Research, 2010The equation of fatigue crack propagation rate is indispensable to precisely predict the fatigue life of structure containing three-dimensional crack under constant amplitude loading. Considering the crack closure effects and thickness effects in real structures, the equation of fatigue crack propagation rate under tri-axial stress state is presented ...

Fatigue Life Prediction of Composite Structures Under Constant Amplitude Loading
Journal of Composite Materials, 2007An approach to construct the stress (or load) vs. cycles curve for composite structures under constant amplitude loading is presented. The approach is based on the assumption that the cycles to failure are a function of the probability of failure during any given cycle.

On Probabilistic Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior under Constant Amplitude Loads
Key Engineering Materials, 2007In this paper, an analysis of fatigue crack growth (FCG) behavior from a statistical point of view has been carried out. Fatigue crack growth tests were conducted on sixteen pre-cracked compact tension (CT) specimens of the pressure vessel (SPV50) steel in controlled identical load and environmental conditions.

Key Engineering Materials, 2007
The present paper interpreted the traditional stress-strength interference model as an equation expressing the statistical average of the probability of strength preponderating over stress. Thus, the same equation, which was traditionally applicable only in the situation of same-measure parameters, can be applied to more general situation of different ...

Review on crack closure for constant amplitude loading in fatigue
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 1992Abstract This article reviews the literature on crack closure for CAL in fatigue published since 1970. The review shows that during fatigue crack propagation the crack closure is affected by the material properties (σ y , σ f ), K max , stress range (Δσ), crack length, strain hardening component ( n ), environment and ...

Stochastic Growth of Fatigue Crack under Constant Amplitude Loading
1992The scatter of experimental fatigue crack paths obtained even in very well-controlled constant amplitude loading tests is very large [Virkler et al. 1979, Ghonem & Dore 1986]. The only origin of this uncertainty is some randomness of the material properties which affect the crack propagation process.

Dugdale crack closure analysis of fatigue cracks under constant amplitude loading
Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 1979Abstract Fatigue fracture mechanics which means structural analysis including crack propagation and crack closure in conjunction with a local failure criterion provides detailed insight into mechanisms of cyclic loaded crack sheets. Using the Dugdale method and rigid-perfectly plastic strip material law the infinite sheet with colinear cracks was ...

Fatigue life prediction by statistical approach under constant amplitude loading
KSME International Journal, 1998In general, the experimental data of fatigue crack growth rates scatter very much even under identical experimental condition such as a constant amplitude loading condition. It is, thus, essential to take into account the data scatter of crack growth rates by using statistical approach for a reliable fatigue crack, propagation analysis.
