The effect of bandwidth in scale-free network traffic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We model information traffic on scale-free networks by introducing the bandwidth as the delivering ability of links. We focus on the effects of bandwidth on the packet delivering ability of the traffic system to better understand traffic dynamic in real ...

A Bandwidth Variation Pattern-Differentiated Rate Adaptation for HTTP Adaptive Streaming Over an LTE Cellular Network

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Currently, HTTP adaptive streaming (HAS) is the state-of-the-art technology for mobile video streaming. The rate adaptation of HAS has been designed to make a trade-off between two contrasting requirements, i.e., enhancing the quality of a video, and ...

Slow waves on long helices

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Slowing light in a non-dispersive and controllable fashion opens the door to many new phenomena in photonics. As such, many schemes have been put forward to decrease the velocity of light, most of which are limited in bandwidth or incur high losses.

Multi-band antenna for different wireless applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A small multi-band compact antenna is presented. The antenna is designed on Roger RT/duroid 5880 with dielectric constant 2.2, multi-band operations is achieved by inserting a slot on the top patch. The antenna has wide impedance bandwidth at 1.2, 1.6, 2.

Octave Bandwidth Constant Beamwidth Underwater Receiving Array [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1972
By a method described at the 79th meeting of the Society, a seven-element linear broadside array was designed to give a constant beamwidth of 26° from 10 to 20 kHz. Five elements spaced 12λ at 10 kHz comprised one array. Using three of these and two more, a half-size array with spacing of 12λ at 20 kHz was obtained.

Comparison of a Circular Patch Unit Cell Performance for Reflector Applications between Using FR4 and F4BMX220 Substrates at 3.5 GHz Frequency

open access: yesJurnal Elektronika dan Telekomunikasi, 2023
This paper presents a performance comparison of the circular patch unit cell as a unit cell for reflector application at 3.5 GHz frequency using a dielectric substrate between FR4 and F4BMX220 substrates.

Effect of dead space on avalanche speed [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The effects of dead space (the minimum distance travelled by a carrier before acquiring enough energy to impact ionize) on the current impulse response and bandwidth of an avalanche multiplication process are obtained from a numerical model that ...

The computation of parameters of induction current sensor based on Rogowski coil

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики, 2017
This paper presents a simple and practical technique of Rogowski transducers for measuring small currents at low frequencies. The parameters of the Rogowski coil with the affiliate integrator is established to deduce the transfer functions. Main features

Modification of Hot-Wire Anemometers Frequency Bandwidth Measurement Method

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In measurements of fast-changing flows, one of the key issues is knowledge of the anemometer frequency bandwidth. In such measurements, the measurement technique often used is hot-wire anemometry.

Dynamic Traitor Tracing for Arbitrary Alphabets: Divide and Conquer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We give a generic divide-and-conquer approach for constructing collusion-resistant probabilistic dynamic traitor tracing schemes with larger alphabets from schemes with smaller alphabets.
