Constant mean curvature foliation: singularity structure and curvature estimate [PDF]

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 1996
The author studies codimension-one foliations of 3-dimensional Riemannian manifolds with leaves of constant mean curvature that can vary from leaf to leaf. The foliations are allowed to have isolated center singularities, that is, points having deleted neighborhoods which are foliated by compact leaves.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Biharmonic Hypersurfaces in Pseudo-Riemannian Space Forms with at Most Two Distinct Principal Curvatures

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
In this paper, we show that biharmonic hypersurfaces with at most two distinct principal curvatures in pseudo-Riemannian space form Nsn+1c with constant sectional curvature c and index s have constant mean curvature.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

On constant higher order mean curvature hypersurfaces in Hn×R ${\mathbb{H}}^{n}{\times}\mathbb{R}$

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies
We classify hypersurfaces with rotational symmetry and positive constant r-th mean curvature in Hn×R ${\mathbb{H}}^{n}{\times}\mathbb{R}$ . Specific constant higher order mean curvature hypersurfaces invariant under hyperbolic translation are also ...

Serrin's Overdetermined Problem and Constant Mean Curvature Surfaces

open access: yes, 2013
For all $N \geq 9$, we find smooth entire epigraphs in $\R^N$, namely smooth domains of the form $\Omega : = \{x\in \R^N\ / \ x_N > F (x_1,\ldots, x_{N-1})\}$, which are not half-spaces and in which a problem of the form $\Delta u + f(u) = 0 $ in ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Large Constant-Sign Solutions of Discrete Dirichlet Boundary Value Problems with p-Mean Curvature Operator

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, we consider the existence of infinitely many large constant-sign solutions for a discrete Dirichlet boundary value problem involving p -mean curvature operator.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
