Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Constant modulus algorithm for blind equalization under impulsive noise environments

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2009
The presence of α stable distributed ambient channel noise in wireless systems can degrade the per-formance of existing constamt modulus(CM) equalizers. The problem of blind equalization in noisy communication channels was investigated by addressing the ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Some Modulus and Normal Structure in Banach Space

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2009
We present some sufficient conditions for which a Banach space X has normal structure in terms of the modulus of U-convexity, modulus of W∗-convexity, and the coefficient R(1,X), which generalized some well-known results.

Constant Modulus Beamforming via Convex Optimization

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
We present novel convex-optimization-based solutions to the problem of blind beamforming of constant modulus signals, and to the related problem of linearly constrained blind beamforming of constant modulus signals. These solutions ensure global optimality and are parameter free, namely, do not contain any tuneable parameters and do not require any a ...

Modeling Dislocation Cutting of γ′ Precipitates in Ni‐Base Superalloys: Linking Atomistic and Dislocation Dynamics Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocation cutting of γ′ precipitates in Ni‐based superalloys is investigated by linking atomistic simulations with discrete dislocation dynamics. The critical cutting stress is shown to be governed by the antiphase boundary energy, while line tension effects promote edge‐preferred cutting.

Towards the best constant in front of the Ditzian-Totik modulus of smoothness

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2016
We give accurate estimates for the constants K ( A ( I ) , n , x ) = sup f ∈ A ( I ) | L n f ( x ) − f ( x ) | ω σ 2 ( f ; 1 / n ) , x ∈ I , n = 1 , 2 , … , $$ K\bigl(\mathcal{A}(I), n, x\bigr)=\sup_{f\in\mathcal{A}(I)}\frac{|L_{n} f(x)-f(x)|}{\omega_ ...

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.
