Impedance of constant phase element (CPE)-blocked diffusion in film electrodes
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1998Abstract We construct a model of ac impedance response to blocked linear diffusion that has a sloped low frequency region in the impedance plot. The approach is based on the transmission line analogy to linear diffusion, and it is equivalent to solving Fick’s law with a boundary condition that allows us to set an arbitrary impedance response at low ...

Remarks on the energetics of interfaces exhibiting constant phase element behaviour
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1998Abstract The energetics of electrified interfaces exhibiting constant phase element (CPE) behaviour is discussed. In the double layer region energy can be dissipated in various ways other than by charge transfer. Therefore, contrary to the statement in Zoltowski, J. Electroanal. Chem.

Constant phase elements, depressed arcs and analytic continuation: A critique
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 2008The connection between the constant phase element (CPE) and the depressed arcs often observed in the Nyquist plane is critically analyzed using the analytic continuation principle enunciated earlier by the author. A major inconsistency is pointed out in a model presently used to explain these depressed arcs.

Note on the parameterization of the constant-phase admittance element
Solid State Ionics, 1984Abstract Some background is presented on the constant-phase admittance element, frequently used as part of a circuit for fitting immitance data on solid electrolytes. Several alternate ways of writing an expression for the constant-phase element are discussed and compared, and it is suggested that one particular parameterization seems preferably to ...

Interpretation of Complex Capacitance Using Equivalent Circuit Involving Constant Phase Element
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2015An electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is powerful tool to evaluate the electrochemical parameters of inside the energy conversion devices. The electric-double layer capacitance C dl can be estimated by the curve fitting of the impedance spectrum generally. It is important to obtain the C dl of the electrode

Analysis of Nonexponential Transient Response Due to a Constant‐Phase Element
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1994To characterize electrical losses of fuel cells or batteries, impedance spectroscopy (IS) or current interruption (CI) can be used. Analysis and parameter determination of impedance data is widely used. The system under study is usually represented by an equivalent circuit from which the system parameters can be determined.

An antenna beam steering technique comprised of constant-phase array elements
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1981Beam steering is normally achieved by the use of phase shifters at each element of an array. The phase taper thereby produced causes a shift of the far-field pattern in sin θ space. An alternate approach to beam steering is presented in which a pair of interleaved arrays are employed.

On the electrical capacitance of interfaces exhibiting constant phase element behaviour
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1998Abstract It is stressed that any attempt to characterise the interfacial double layer exhibiting a constant phase element (CPE) behaviour by electrical capacitance is misleading. The only possibility to obtain the value of the interfacial double layer capacitance is to ascribe to the double layer a capacitive character.
