Design for a Constant Volume Dispenser of Dry Adsorbents

The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1973
A device which conveniently dispenses small volumes of dry adsorbent materials has been designed. With this device, reproducible volumes of Florisil® are rapidly dispensed into the individual tubes of a typical steroid “competitive protein-binding” assay.

Reliable modeling of constant volume depletion (CVD) behaviors in gas condensate reservoirs

Fuel, 2018
It is important to access a clear understanding about the phase behavior of gas condensate reservoirs in order to forecast the future performance of such reservoirs. In this communication, different models based on multilayer perceptron network (MLP NN),

A novel inflatable robot with constant and continuous volume

2011 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2011
Inflatable structures are already used in robotics to build stiff and light inflatable links. Moreover, those links are compliant and they can be safely used in robots interacting with critical installations. Nevertheless, until now, linkages with an inflatable structure have always been composed of independent inflatable links separated by joints. But

A reassessment of the molar volume of silicon and of the Avogadro constant

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2001
An "absolute" value for the molar volume of Si in Si single crystals is presented as 12.058 820 7(54) cm/sup 3/ mol/sup -1/ with a relative standard uncertainty of 4.5/spl middot/10/sup -7/. It is argued that the consistency of most of the molar volume determinations is useful for evaluating the quality of the Si single crystals involved.

Viscous Flow of Liquids at Constant Volume and Constant Pressure

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1958
The energy of activation for viscous flow at constant volume, Ev, is dependent on the volume of a liquid. For normal liquids at elevated temperatures, Ev is only a small fraction of the value of the activation energy at constant pressure, Ep. However, for associated liquids, on account of the presence of hydrogen bonds, Ev is almost equivalent to Ep ...

Photometric determination of cell permeability at constant volume

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biophysics including Photosynthesis, 1966
Abstract An optical method is described for the study of permeability of cell suspensions under conditions approximating constant volume. This method minimizes solute-solvent interactions as well as membrane distortions accompanying volume changes, and makes possible the study of effects of cell volume changes on permeability.

Volume dependence of gruneisen constant

Solid State Communications, 1974
Abstract An expression is derived for a new isothermal parameter λ = v γ ( ∂γ ∂v) T which gives the volume dependence of Gruneisen constant of cubic crystals and its value is calculated in the case of NaCl, KCl, Cu, Ag, Al and Au. It is shown that the λ parameter modifies the thermal contribution to the isothermal compressibility of ...

Reversible changes in conformation of mitochondria of constant volume

Tissue and Cell, 1969
When potato mitochondria are prepared in a suitable isotonic or hypertonic medium, their morphology depends upon whether or not a macromolecular solute is present in the final suspending medium. Any of several chemically disparate polymers or macromolecules, above a certain critical concentration, will produce filamentous or rod-like mitochondria ...
