Multidimensional Geometric Shaping for QAM Constellations
2017 European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC), 2017A novel multidimensional geometric shaping technique for QAM formats is proposed. Optimized constellations at 6 bits/4D symbol and 4 bits/8D symbol are obtained by optimized subset selection of DP-16QAM and DP-QPSK constellations, respectively.

Lattice Precoding for Multi-Span Constellation Shaping
2018 European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC), 2018We introduce lattice precoding (LP) for constellation shaping, which takes kurtosis into account at multiple spans to mitigate nonlinear distortion. The proposed method achieves 0.35 b/s/Hz gain for 64QAM shaping in long-haul nonlinear fiber-optic communications.
