Urban electricity governance and the (re)production of heterogeneous electricity constellations in Dar es Salaam

open access: yesEnergy, Sustainability and Society, 2023
Background Electricity infrastructures in sub-Saharan African cities are characterized by heterogeneous socio-technical constellations, including alternative grid access channels and off-grid systems.

Finite Dimensional Infinite Constellations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In the setting of a Gaussian channel without power constraints, proposed by Poltyrev, the codewords are points in an n-dimensional Euclidean space (an infinite constellation) and the tradeoff between their density and the error probability is considered.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

On the Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoff of Unconstrained Multiple-Access Channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this work the optimal diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is investigated for the multiple-input multiple-output fading multiple-access channels with no power constraints (infinite constellations).

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Eighteenth Dynasty imperial borders at the Cool Waters of Horus and Seth [PDF]

open access: yesPražské Egyptologické Studie
Some of the rulers of the Eighteenth Dynasty applied the designations of “Cool Waters of Horus and Seth” for marking their borders. These terms most certainly referred to the northern and southern celestial borders of the Egyptian Empire, and although ...
