What's New? Screening, combined with treatment of precancerous lesions, is key to preventing anal cancer. Here, the authors compare different screening algorithms. The International Anal Neoplasia Society recommends swab‐based screening as a first step, either cytology‐based or HPV‐based, and digital anal rectal exam (DARE).
