Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Study of bremsstrahlung photons in bulk target using MCNP code

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2017
The aim of this research was to study the feasibility of bremsstrahlung photon production in target bombarded by 1 GeV electrons. The calculations were performed by the Monte Carlo code MCNP.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Influence of extra La and annealing temperature on microstructure and magnetocaloric properties of La-Fe-Co-Si alloys

open access: yes, 2015
The microstructure, phase constitution and magnetocaloric properties of non-stoichiometric La1.7Fe11Co0.8Si1.2 alloys were investigated. Compared with stoichiometric La(Fe,Co,Si)(13) alloys, a complex phase, including La(Fe,Co,Si)(13) phase, La5Si3 phase,

The constitution of matter: Existence of thermodynamics for systems composed of electrons and nuclei

open access: yes, 1972
We establish the existence of the infinite volume (thermodynamic) limit for the free energy density of a system of charged particles, e.g., electrons and nuclei.

Dose dependence of the intensity of free radical processes in the peripheral blood of conditionally healthy donors

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2019
The nature of the dependence of the intensity of free radical processes in the peripheral blood of donors on the dose of radiation in vitro (0.5 - 3.0 Gy) related to the parameters of the prooxidant-antioxidant ratio (PAR) and the content of malonic ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Amending and Defending Constitution

open access: yes, 2011
I begin by evaluating four theories: mereological essentialism, the occasional identity thesis, four-dimensionalism and the constitution view. I compare the solutions these theories offer to puzzles of material constitution with particular attention ...

Programmable Matter Research based on 4D printing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Department of Materials Science EngineeringAs a concept suggested by Skylar Tibbits of MIT in 2013, 4D printing is a field with many new possibilities. 4D printing produces programmable matter that responds to exterior stimuli and changes its structure ...
