Minimal important change and minimal clinically important difference in pain and function with exercise in hip osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective The objective of this study was to estimate the minimal important change (MIC) and minimal clinically important difference (MCID) for pain and physical function in individuals with hip osteoarthritis (OA) following a physiotherapist‐guided exercise intervention.

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

A methodology for neural spatial interaction modelling [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper presents a methodology for neural spatial interaction modelling. Particular emphasis is laid on design, estimation and performance issues in both cases, unconstrained and singly constrained spatial interaction.

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Inference with Linear Equality and Inequality Constraints Using R: The Package ic.infer

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2010
In linear models and multivariate normal situations, prior information in linear inequality form may be encountered, or linear inequality hypotheses may be subjected to statistical tests.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Localization for mobile sensor network based on unscented Kalman filter with clipping and uncorrelated conversion

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2017
This article studies localization for mobile sensor network with incomplete range measurements, that is, the ranges between some pairs of sensors cannot be measured. Different from existing works that localize sensors one by one, the localization problem

Investigation of Laser Ablation and Brush Pre‐Treatments for AlCu Cold Roll Bonding in Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Research on Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging of the Brain Based on Deep Learning

open access: yesIEEE Access
Precise evaluation of the deviation of water molecule diffusion in the brain tissue from the Gaussian diffusion model is crucial for diagnosing brain disorders. Diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) is a technique that may accurately describe the non-Gaussian

Semiparametric estimation of (constrained) ultrametric trees [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper introduces a general, formal treatment of dynamic constraints, i.e., constraints on the state changes that are allowed in a given state space.
