Dynamic mechanical response of polymer networks

open access: yes, 2000
The dynamic-mechanical response of flexible polymer networks is studied in the framework of tube model, in the limit of small affine deformations, using the approach based on Rayleighian dissipation function.

Triplet‐Triplet Annihilation Enhances Photochemical Curing Contrast for Vat‐Based 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Triplet–triplet annihilation photopolymerization (TTAP) resins enhance curing contrast for digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing compared to conventional Type I and II photopolymerizations at matched optical densities. By exploiting a superlinear initiation response, TTAP preserves fine details, allowing reliable fabrication of complex structures ...

Integrating the Finite Element Method with a Data-Driven Approach for Dam Displacement Prediction

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
Both numerical simulations and data-driven methods have been applied in dam’s displacement modeling. For monitored displacement data-driven methods, the physical mechanism and structural correlations were rarely discussed.

Thermo‐Mechanically Recyclable Smart Textiles from Circularly Knitted Liquid Crystal Elastomer Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Reprogrammable multi‐material smart textiles knitted from liquid crystal elastomer fibers undergo 2D and 3D deformation under thermal and photo stimuli. Circularly knitted tubular structures reversibly contract in radial and axial directions, enabling autonomous climbing, liquid release, and micro pumping.

Rock Physical Modeling Based on Critical Porosity Constraint Optimization

open access: yesGeofluids
The equivalent dry rock modulus serves as an important parameter in the construction of equivalent rock physical models. Moreover, it is the key information for accurately predicting the elastic parameters and longitudinal and transverse wave velocities ...

Use of functional cluster analysis of CPTU data for assessment of a subsoil rigidity

open access: yesStudia Geotechnica et Mechanica, 2018
This paper shows an example of the grouping of piezocone penetration test (CPTU) characteristics using functional data analysis, together with the results of clustering, in the form of a subsoil rigidity model.

Adaptive Hydrogels With Spatiotemporal Stiffening Using pH‐Modulating Enzymes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemomechanical coupling in an adaptive hydrogel is studied to further the development of adaptive hydrogels. This coupling is achieved by embedding a pH‐modulating enzyme in a pH‐responsive hydrogel. The enzymatic reaction can be triggered locally, which generates a pH‐decreasing wave throughout the system, increasing the crosslinking density and ...
