Let S be a semigroup, C(S) the automaton constructed from the right Cayley graph of S with respect to all of S as the generating set and ∑(C(S)) the automaton semigroup constructed from C(S). Such semigroups are termed Cayley automaton semigroups. For

SE Constructions in the Romance Languages
SE constructions across the Romance languages have been classified on the basis of syntactic and semantic evidence. Although the terminology varies, at least four main types of SE can be identified: three constructions in which SE can be interpreted as an argument (the reflexive/reciprocal SE, the arbitrary/impersonal SE, the middle SE) and a residual ...

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

The learnability of constructed languages reflects typological patterns
A small number of the logically possible word order configura-tions account for a large proportion of actual human languages. To explain this distribution, typologists often invoke principles of human cognition which might make certain orders easier or ...

Photothermal‐Activated Antibacterial Amyloid‐Polyphenol‐Iron Hydrogels for Synergistic Wound Healing
We report a thermally triggered supramolecular hydrogel (LTFe) formed by Fe3+ and tannic acid on lysozyme amyloid fibrils. Fe3+ enables rapid gelation and photothermal transduction with an efficiency of 88.56%. The LTFe hydrogel exhibits excellent biocompatibility, potent antibacterial activity against E. coli and S.

This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

A finite-state machine is called a Thompson machine if it can be constructed from a regular expression using Thompson's construction. We assign distinct bracket pairs to the source and target states of all machine units that make up a Thompson machine ...
