Politics &Policy, Volume 54, Issue 3, June 2026.ABSTRACT In the 2023 November election, Ohioans voted in favor of Issue 2—the Marijuana Legalization Initiative. The successful passing of this initiative at the ballot box made Ohio the 24th state and largest Republican voting state to adopt a recreational adult‐use marijuana policy. Issue 2 was voted in favor of by a margin of 57% to 43%.
