Maintenance of remission after tocilizumab withdrawal in patients with glucocorticoid‐dependent polymyalgia rheumatica

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective The SEMAPHORE trial evaluated the efficacy and safety of tocilizumab (TCZ) in glucocorticoid (GC)‐dependent polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). TCZ reduced GC use and disease activity at 24 weeks. This study aimed to assess relapse rates after stopping TCZ in patients achieving remission at week 24.

Mucosal‐associated invariant T cells in rheumatic diseases.

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Mucosal‐associated invariant T (MAIT) cells are innate‐like T cells defined by their semi‐invariant T cell receptor (TCR) and restriction by the MHC class I‐related molecule (MR1). These cells are primarily activated by microbial‐derived metabolites presented by MR1 or by cytokines. Upon activation, MAIT cells rapidly produce pro‐inflammatory cytokines,

Efficacy and Safety of ABBV‐154 for the Treatment of Active Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Phase 2b, Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Trial

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Despite availability of biologics and targeted synthetic disease‐modifying antirheumatic drugs (b/tsDMARDs) to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA), many patients do not experience optimized disease control. Glucocorticoids are effective but have safety risks.

Topological contact dynamics II: topological automorphisms, contact homeomorphisms, and non-smooth contact dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
This sequel to our previous paper [MS11b] continues the study of topological contact dynamics and applications to contact dynamics and topological dynamics. We provide further evidence that the topological automorphism groups of a contact structure and a contact form are the appropriate transformation groups of contact dynamical systems.

There is a method to the madness, and a madness to the method: A beginner's guide to qualitative research

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract Qualitative research is increasingly engaged in anatomical sciences education research. However, many in the discipline are not formally trained in qualitative methodology and—like other research methods—qualitative methods are continually developed and enhanced.

Methylisothiazolinone and Methylchloroisothiazolinone New Insights [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Medical Journal Dermatology, 2013
Methylisothiazolinone (MI), along with Kathon™ CG (methylchloroisothiazolinone/MI), are widely used preservatives to prevent bacterial overgrowth in aqueous solutions of various types of cosmetic, household, and industrial products. Because of its high
