A Nasal Cytology Dataset for Object Detection and Deep Learning [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Nasal Cytology is a new and efficient clinical technique to diagnose rhinitis and allergies that is not much widespread due to the time-consuming nature of cell counting; that is why AI-aided counting could be a turning point for the diffusion of this technique.

Using the HClO4–H2O2 System for Efficient Platinum Leaching: Optimal Conditions and Kinetics

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
GA: The platinum leaching using HClO4 and H2O2 is studied. For each HClO4 concentration, an H2O2/HClO4 = 2.5 ratio optimizes the kinetics. The best operating conditions are ≈70 °C, [HClO4] 3 m, and [H2O2] 7.2 m. The leaching process is governed by diffusion in the boundary layer and chemical reaction. In this new extraction process, Cl2(g) is generated

Self-Supervised and Few-Shot Learning for Robust Bioaerosol Monitoring [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Real-time bioaerosol monitoring is improving the quality of life for people affected by allergies, but it often relies on deep-learning models which pose challenges for widespread adoption. These models are typically trained in a supervised fashion and require considerable effort to produce large amounts of annotated data, an effort that must be ...

Functions of Dietary Restriction and Unique Associations With Mood States Among Young Adults With Food Insecurity: Findings From an Ecological Momentary Assessment Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Limited research has examined the function or consequences of dietary restriction among individuals for whom it may serve differential purposes, such as those with food insecurity. Indeed, food insecurity may uniquely relate to differential functions for engaging in dietary restriction, which may relate to subsequent changes in mood;

A Survey on Food Ingredient Substitutions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Diet plays a crucial role in managing chronic conditions and overall well-being. As people become more selective about their food choices, finding recipes that meet dietary needs is important. Ingredient substitution is key to adapting recipes for dietary restrictions, allergies, and availability constraints. However, identifying suitable substitutions
