Ionic Control of Microstructure and Lubrication in Charged, Physically Cross‐Linked Hydrogels
Here, charged, physically cross‐linked poly(methacrylamide‐co‐methacrylic acid) hydrogels stabilized by a short‐range attractive, long‐range repulsive potential is investigated. This work uncovers how salt addition alters not only swelling, but also the microstructure and dynamics, near‐surface stiffness and charge, and ultimately, its lubricity. Salts

This work develops flexible zinc‐ion batteries (FZIBs) using a zincophilic/hydrophobic polymer (thermoplastic polycarbonate‐based polyurethane, TPCU) to protect Zn powder anodes and MXene/Silk (MXS) as flexible current collectors. The designed TPCU‐ZnP@MXS structure enables uniform Zn deposition, yielding dendrite‐free anodes with stable cycling ...

Statistical Mechanics of Electrowetting
We derive the ab initio equilibrium statistical mechanics of the gas–liquid–solid contact angle on planar periodic, monodisperse, textured surfaces subject to electrowetting. To that end, we extend an earlier theory that predicts the advance or recession

Corrosion and wettability of PEO coatings on magnesium by addition of potassium stearate
Hydrophobic PEO coatings were fabricated in an electrolyte containing potassium stearate. The wetting behaviour of coated samples was studied using dynamic and static contact angle.

Interparticle friction leads to non-monotonic flow curves and hysteresis in viscous suspensions [PDF]
Hysteresis is a major feature of the solid-liquid transition in granular materials. This property, by allowing metastable states, can potentially yield catastrophic phenomena such as earthquakes or aerial landslides.

Fermi Surface Nesting and Anomalous Hall Effect in Magnetically Frustrated Mn2PdIn
Mn2PdIn, a frustrated inverse Heusler alloy, showing electronic‐structure driven anomalous Hall effect with Weyl crossings, Fermi‐surface nesting and near‐zero magnetization ideal for low‐magnetization spintronics. Abstract Noncollinear magnets with near‐zero net magnetization and nontrivial bulk electronic topology hold significant promise for ...

Reevaluating the Activity of ZIF‐8 Based FeNCs for Electrochemical Ammonia Production
Though receiving much attention, the field of electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) to ammonia is marked by doubts about whether this reaction is possible in aqueous media. This work sheds light on this question for iron single‐atom on N‐doped carbon (FeNC) catalysts—a class of well‐known catalysts that is also worth testing for the sister

This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...
