Composite contact of binary lipid membranes
The European Physical Journal E, 2013Upon adhesion, binary lipid membranes may retain their structural identity but they may also undergo partial fusion promoted by microscopic phase separation of the components. In membranes composed of cylindrical and inverted conical lipids, a partially fused contact zone may consist of inverted micelles sandwiched between two monolayers.

Multiplicity of Contact Binary Stars
2007We present results of a preliminary investigation of triple star incidence for contact binary stars. The goal is to shed light on the possible role of distant companions which may have acquired and/or absorbed AM during evolution of multiple systems facilitating or enabling formation of contact binaries.

Evolutionary stage of contact binaries
Chinese Astronomy and Astrophysics, 1988A new method of estimating the evolutionary stage reached by a contact binary from its observations is proposed. Application to 38 systems shows that all systems of subtype A and some systems of subtype W are evolved systems, from systems which may or may not be contact systems at the zero-age main-sequence stage.
