Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Simulation of the effect of contact area loss in all-solid-state Li-ion batteries

open access: yes, 2017
Maintaining the physical contact between the solid electrolyte and the electrode is important to improve the performance of all-solid- state batteries. Imperfect contact can be formed during cell fabrication and will be worsened due to cycling, resulting

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Strength Model for Concrete in Near-Reinforcement Region

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings
The relevant problem of concrete strength in the near-reinforcement zone is solved as a problem of volumetric stress-strain state with the “closure” of output integral parameters of this zone on the framework of the whole reinforced concrete element ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

MICRO THERMAL ELASTOHYDRODYNAMIC LUBRICATION ANALYSIS OF LINE CONTACT ROLLER PAIRS CONSIDERING THE CHANGE OF ELASTIC MODULUS

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2021
As an important performance parameter of metal materials, the elastic modulus changes with temperature. However,in the analysis of thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication, the elastic modulus has been taken as a constant, and there must be an error in the ...

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Network analysis of gene expression reveals regulators of cell viscosity and mechanical phenotype

open access: yesScientific Reports
Cell mechanical properties, such as cell stiffness and viscous behavior, have been proposed as biomarkers of cell disease states. Moreover, the molecular pathways that modify cell mechanics may also be potential novel targets for managing lethal diseases,
