Contact interaction analysis of pion GTMDs

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2021
A contact interaction is used to calculate an array of pion twist-two, -three and -four generalised transverse light-front momentum dependent parton distribution functions (GTMDs).

Exact calculation of three-body contact interaction to second order

open access: yes, 2012
For a system of fermions with a three-body contact interaction the second-order contributions to the energy per particle $\bar E(k_f)$ are calculated exactly. The three-particle scattering amplitude in the medium is derived in closed analytical form from

Exact Eigenstates for Contact Interactions

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2002
We show that in d>1 dimensions the N-particle kinetic energy operator with periodic boundary conditions has symmetric eigenfunctions which vanish at particle encounters, and give a full description of these functions. In two and three dimensions they represent common eigenstates of bosonic Hamiltonians with any kind of contact interactions, and ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Comparing contact and dipolar interaction in a Bose-Einstein condensate

open access: yes, 2006
We have measured the relative strength $\epsilon_dd$ of the magnetic dipole-dipole interaction compared to the contact interaction in a chromium Bose-Einstein condensate.

Characterization of Pedestrian Contact Interaction Trajectories

open access: yes, 2023
A spreading process can be observed when a particular behavior, substance, or disease spreads through a population over time in social and biological systems. It is widely believed that contact interactions among individual entities play an essential role in the spreading process.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Influence of contact interaction character on residual stresses arising over damaged area in composite plate

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity
New data concerning the values of residual stresses that arise as a result of the contact interaction of a spherical indenter and a flat surface of composite plate have been obtained.
