Refractive Error and visual acuity changes during contact lens wear
As part of a project in which various ocular parametrs are followed during the first three months of contact lens wear, refractive eror and visual acuity changes are described for the total sample and for three groups wearing differently fitting lenses ...

Spectrally Encoded Proximity‐Field Nanopatterning
Spectrally encoded proximity‐field nanopatterning (SEPN) enables continuous control of the out‐of‐plane periodicity of 3D photonic crystals by tuning the exposure wavelength while maintaining a fixed in‐plane period. This decouples near‐infrared reflectance from visible iridescence and allows fabrication of integrated multipattern devices with ...

This work studies the effect of halide alloying in Cs3Bi2(Br1−xIx)9 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) semiconductors. The x = 0.6 shows the smallest bandgap, lowest exciton binding energy, and longest charge carrier lifetimes, showing promising properties for optoelectronic and photocatalytic applications.

Unravelling contact lens specifications
Contact lens practitioners often rely on specifications supplied by manufacturers for information on new lens materials and new lens designs. Comparison of different contact lenses on the basis of this information is made difficult by the use of non ...

The use and abuse of contact lens solutions
Successful contact lens wear happens only when ther is compatability of all components of the wearing environment: the ocular tissues, the contact lens itself, and its care system chemistry.

Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

An AI‐Enabled All‐In‐One Visual, Proximity, and Tactile Perception Multimodal Sensor
Targeting integrated multimodal perception of robots, an AI‐enabled all‐in‐one multimodal sensor is proposed. This sensor is capable of perceiving three types of modalities, including vision, proximity, and tactility. By toggling an ultraviolet light and adjusting the camera focus, it switches smoothly between multiple perceptual modalities, enabling ...
