Current‐Induced Domain Wall Dynamics in Pt/Co/Ni/Co Nanoribbons With Curvilinear Cross‐Sections

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D curvilinear magnetic racetrack nanoribbons are formed with concave and convex cross‐sections using an advanced multi‐photon 3D printer. The curvature is shown to strongly affect current‐induced domain wall motion along the nanoribbons. In nanoribbons with cross‐sections that have both concave and convex segments, the velocities of domain walls with ...

Spherical aberration in relation to visual performance in contact lens wear

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction: The aim of the present study was to evaluate changes in spherical aberration and their effect on visual quality (visual acuity and contrast sensitivity) in both distance and near with different non-custom-made contact lenses.

Clinical outcomes of a novel presbyopia-correcting soft contact lens with a small aperture

open access: yes, 2020
Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of a newly developed pinhole soft contact lens (Eyelike Pinhole II; Koryo Eyetech Co. Ltd.) for presbyopia correction. Methods: This prospective clinical study enrolled 29 patients with presbyopia between

Atom–Cluster Synergy in Scalable Fe–Ru Dual‐Site Architectures Accelerates Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A mechanochemically synthesized dual‐site electrocatalyst (RuNC@Fe1NC) accelerates alkaline hydrogen evolution via atomic‐level spatial decoupling. Oxophilic Fe single atoms effectively dissociate water, while adjacent Ru nanoclusters rapidly recombine hydrogen.

Impact of contact lens group on antifungal efficacy of multipurpose disinfecting contact lens solutions

open access: yes, 2008
To evaluate and compare the in vitro effectiveness of multipurpose contact lens solutions (MPDS) to inhibit fungal colonization of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) contact lens groups. Contact lenses from FDA groups I (low water content, nonionic), II (

Parity‐Dependent THz Harmonic Generation in Electrically Pumped Micro‐Lasers Exploiting Topological Insulator–Metamaterial Gratings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Topological insulator–metamaterials integrated with electrically driven terahertz quantum cascade lasers enable parity‐dependent harmonic generation. Bulk‐dominated Bi2Se3 favors third‐harmonic emission at 9.96 THz, whereas topological‐surface‐state‐dominated Bi2Se3, Bi2Te3, and (Bi,Sb)2Te3 generate strong second harmonics near 6.5 THz.
