Hydrodynamic theory of liquid slippage on a solid substrate near a moving contact line

open access: yes, 2013
In this Letter a hydrodynamic theory of liquid slippage on a solid substrate near a moving contact line is proposed. A family of spatially varying slip lengths in the Navier slip law recovers the results of past formulations for slip in continuum ...

Sex Representation in US Stroke Clinical Trials: A Decade of Trends and Challenges

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stroke remains a major cause of disability and mortality in the US, with significant sex‐based disparities, and females remain underrepresented in stroke clinical trials. We aimed to examine sex representation in US‐based stroke clinical trials, identify trial characteristics associated with higher female enrollment (≥ 50%), and ...

Contact Line Shape on Ultrahydrophobic Post Surfaces

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, we investigate the configuration of the contact line of a water drop lying on an ultrahydrophobic post surface using the numerical algorithm Surface Evolver.

Analysis of Contact Line Short-circuit Current Thermal Effect of Electrified Railway

open access: yes机车电传动, 2019
In order to study the thermal effect of railway contact line in passive short circuit and power failure, the temperature rise between the main circuit, the pantograph slide and the contact line of the catenary caused by short-circuit current was studied.

Effects of dispersed sulfides in bronze under line contact conditions [PDF]

open access: yesJurnal Tribologi, 2016
A sintered bronze system is applied to plane bearings with some lubricants. A bronze-based, sulfide-dispersed Cu alloy was developed via sintering. Sulfides had some functions, reduction of friction resistance, preventing scoring and seizure.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Clinical Outcomes of SEEG‐Guided Radiofrequency Thermocoagulation in Children With Focal Drug‐Resistant Epilepsy: A Multicenter Real‐World Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Stereoelectroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation (SEEG‐RFTC) has emerged as a safe and effective minimally invasive treatment for children with drug‐resistant focal epilepsy. Although evidence from real‐world studies remains limited, numerous pediatric cases have demonstrated promising outcomes. This retrospective

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...
