Performance Analysis of Gear Honing with Modified TI-Hourglass Worm Honing Wheel
According to the theories of differential geometry and gear meshing, the basic equations for involute helicoids, meshinglines and meshing boundary lines are deduced. Then using MATLAB program, the contact lines and meshing boundary are drawn. The results show

Scale Dependence of Contact Line Computations [PDF]
Summary: The shape and velocity of a sliding droplet are computed by solving the Navier-Stokes equation with free interface boundary conditions. The Galerkin finite element method is implemented in a 2D computation domain discretized using an unstructured mesh with triangular elements.

Liver organoids: modelling complexity in homeostasis and disease
Studying liver in vitro has been challenging because simple 2D cell cultures fail to capture liver's cellular and architectural complexity. To bridge this gap, scientists increasingly use organoids, 3D liver models which better mimic liver composition and function. This review examines recent advances in liver organoid complexity and realism, discusses

Malignant transformation of non-neoplastic Barrett's epithelial cells through well-defined genetic manipulations. [PDF]
Human Barrett's cancer cell lines have numerous, poorly-characterized genetic abnormalities and, consequently, those lines have limited utility as models for studying the early molecular events in carcinogenesis.

The microbiome in human skin aging
Age‐related skin changes encompass the well‐known visible phenotypic alterations, together with microbiome dysbiosis and a series of molecular aging hallmarks. These hallmarks characterize not only a fully stablished aged phenotype but also the skin aging process itself.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

Wear Analysis of Catenary Dropper Lines Due to Discontinuous Contact
The service reliability of critical catenary components is strongly influenced by damage evolution at dynamic contact interfaces. In this study, a numerical framework is developed to simulate the dynamic contact behavior and wear progression of catenary ...

Coexistence of Pinning and Moving on a Contact Line [PDF]
Textured surfaces are instrumental in water repellency or fluid wicking applications, where the pinning and depinning of the liquid-gas interface plays an important role. Previous work showed that a contact line can exhibit nonuniform behavior due to heterogeneities in surface chemistry or roughness.
