Robust microscale superlubricity under high contact pressure enabled by graphene-coated microsphere
Superlubricity of graphite and graphene has aroused increasing interest in recent years. Yet how to obtain a long-lasting superlubricity between graphene layers, under high applied normal load in ambient atmosphere still remains a challenge but is highly

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Tooth-root-stress evaluation for plastic gears considering effect of contact ratio under load
In a plastic gear pair, the low rigidity of plastics can lead to a higher actual contact ratio due to tooth deflection under load compared to the geometrical one. This phenomenon contributes to a decrease in tooth root stress.

Research on bolt pre-tightening and relaxation mechanism under transverse load
In order to predict the bolt’s stress distribution under the pre-tightening state and the loosening process under the transverse load, a 3D model considering the bolt thread structure was established by finite element method (FEM).
